Grand Rapids, MI - The Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA) recently announced that its second Chemicals Summit will be held April 21-22, 2015 at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, IL.
Keynote presenters include Michelle Moore of The WELL Building Institute, Cheryl Durst CEO of the IIDA, Paula McEvoy of Perkins+Will, and Brendan Owens of the US Green Building Council.
The 2nd BIFMA Chemicals Summit will outline the future direction for chemical responsibility in the furniture industry. "We continue to work as an industry, gather the leading thinkers on the issues of chemicals and how they relate to building and product standards" stated BIFMA Executive Director Tom Reardon. "From here we'll determine how we will best address the need for greater transparency in products."
Participants will examine trends and current activity in this area, consider how the BIFMA standard and certification program need to evolve to address these trends, and shape the future for the furniture industry and others with respect to green chemistry leadership.
